Can you use my 23andMe data to give better African Results?

"Can my 23andMe results be used by African Ancestry for more precise African results?"

No, because they use what's called a genome-wide chip, that tests autosomal DNA. There are three different molecules that you can use to test genetic ancestry. And which molecule you use is determined by what scientific question it is you're trying to answer.

They're testing autosomal DNA to answer a different type of question than our test. We're looking for specific regions on the mitochondrial DNA and specific regions or markers on the YDNA. Moreover, the data sets don't overlap, so we couldn't use the results from other tests.
