Ancestry Education Project - Walker Jones Education Center Reveal Celebration
The Ancestry Education Project is an interdisciplinary learning curriculum for students that promotes science education, achievement motivation and positive psychological development.
On February 26th, 2009, ten seventh graders at the Walker Jones Education Center, the principal Jeffrey Grant, Life Sciences teacher, Matrice Johnson and World History teacher, Givonne Scarboro discovered their ancestral roots.

Ancestry Education Project - Testing 7th Graders at Walker Jones Education Center
The Ancestry Education Project is an interdisciplinary learning curriculum for students that promotes science education, achievement motivation and positive psychological development.
In January 2009, ten seventh graders at the Walker Jones Education Center, the principal Jeffrey Grant, Life Sciences teacher, Matrice Johnson and World History teacher, Givonne Scarboro took part in the first of three components of the program by taking the ancestry-tracing test in the school’s science lab.

College Bound California Reveal
College Bound California is an organization that has been preparing young people to succeed in college. In 2007, Executive Director, Johnnie Savoy integrated ancestry tracing into College Bound California's Rites of Passage program. Today, her 60 high school seniors now know their roots!

African Ancestry and the National Black Arts Festival partnered to launch the DNA Project. India.Arie was among the hundreds of people who traced their ancestry as a part of the DNA Project in 2007.
